A slotless bottom sill is a smooth, groove-free (or slot-free) horizontal metal threshold (typically stainless steel) installed at the base of the elevator car entrance and/or landing doors. Unlike traditional sills that feature recessed grooves or slots to guide door rollers or brushes, a slotless sill has a flat, flush, or minimally profiled surface with no indentations.
